FAQ
Hopefully this page will answer some questions that we get a lot of emails and comments about.
How do I submit a demo?
Email us at demos@coleminerecords.com. Please make sure to realize what kind of label we operate. We are a niche label releasing primarily funk, soul, and related genres.
Why are you charging so much for shipping outside of the United States?
We do not determine the shipping costs for shipping parcels outside of the US, the United States Postal Service does. It is expensive and we realize that, but we are only charging what it costs us to ship. The unfortunate downside of pressing super heavy gatefold tip-on jackets for our LPs is that there is no way we can safely ship them for a reasonable rate. For example, the weight of just one of our standard LPs when wrapped up and ready for shipping is right around 1 pound and 14 ounces.
If you are a European customer, we suggest you reach out to your local record shop or hit up some of the larger online stores such as HHV and Juno as we often supply them directly with our limited edition first pressings.
When will my order ship?
If your order was for catalog items (items that have already been released), most orders ship within 24-72 hours. However, if your order contains pre-order items (items that have not been released yet), please refer to the street date on the product page. We usually put the released date in bold and in red text on the product page.
If your order contains multiple pre-order items, please note that your order will not ship until your entire order is ready to ship. If you would like some of your pre-order items before that date, please reply to your order confirmation with that request and we'll let you know what we can do.
When will my PRE-ORDER ship?
If it's a Colemine, Karma Chief, or Remined release, chances are good that your pre-order will ship in advance of the street date, however that is not a guarantee. In general, our pre-order shipments will all leave our building by the street date.
Where are your records pressed?
Almost all of our records are pressed at Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, OH. Some of our earlier 45s (CLMN-101 through CLMN-124) were pressed at United Record Pressing in Nashville, TN.
I missed out on the limited edition records and now I'm angry. How could you do this to me? How can I prevent from feeling this feeling in the future?
The best way to avoid missing out on the limited edition is to make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list. There's a link in the toolbar to sign up. By signing up, you'll guarantee that you get a private email in advance of our public announcement about our limited edition pressings. We can't always foresee demand for particular titles, but we do our best to make sure we press enough for our regular purchasing subscribers.
Can I come visit you?
Sure. We operate out of our record store, Plaid Room Records, in beautiful downtown Loveland, OH. Stop by during regular business hours anytime.
