Born and raised in South Florida, he drew inspiration from entertainers and DJs like Jam Pony Express. As a teenager, Grimez would spend hours at the flea market, flipping through catalogs and picking up tapes for his collection. He relocated to Ohio in the 90s, where he fell in love with sampling and began producing music of his own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor each Doctor Bionic record, Grimez pulls in a cast of highly talented musicians from the local scene. The Beat Zealot features some familiar names like Brian Batchelor-Glader and Marvin Hawkins, as well as some new players who stepped into Doctor Bionic’s studio for the first time. Keith Humphrey laid down the beautiful guitar riff on “Vast World,” and Dione Howard performed the unique drum pattern on “Mystery of the Cosmos.”\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn the studio, the group of musicians toss out ideas and improvise while Grimez runs the board.Later, he arranges the tracks and establishes a theme for a full-length record. “I’m always working on an album, but sometimes I’m not sure what the artwork or title will be,” Grimez explained.
